Department Of English

Ananda Mohon College is one of the best colleges in Bangladesh. And the Department of English is an illustrious andone of the oldest Departments of this college. In 1994 Preliminary Course (Masters’ Part–I) was introduced here under National University. Later on, Honours Course in English was started from the session:1995-96. During the period Prof. Mr. A.K.M. Shamsul Islam was the honourable Principal of this institution. Initially, only four teachers were there in the Department to run the Honours Course. Mr. Ibrahim Khalil, Associate Professor was in the chair. He was collaborated with other three dynamic teachers-Mr. Syad A.B.M. Showkat Ali, Assistant Professor, Mr. Abdur Rashid, Lecturer and Mrs. Afsana Asfia, Lecturer. In the meantime , new posts were created for the teachers and a group of enthusiastic, shining and promising teachers like Mr. Md. Ismail Hossain, Mr. Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Mr. Hossain Ahmed Arif Elahi, Mr. Mohammad Ebadul Haq Bhuyan, Mr, Mohammad Shahjahan....
